Bill Gates' Fund Backs $26.5M Raise for Cow Methane Vaccine by ArkeabioTM
May 10, 2024, 07:48 AM
A startup has developed a new vaccine aimed at reducing methane emissions from cows by targeting their digestive processes. The vaccine, which has raised $26.5 million in venture capital funding, including a significant contribution from a fund led by Bill Gates, seeks to diminish methane emissions by altering the gut microbiology of livestock. AgriZeroNZ invested $6m in the U.S. startup ArkeabioTM to support this initiative. This effort is part of broader strategies to address the environmental impact of methane emissions from agriculture, with other methods also being explored to reduce emissions from rice farming.
