VisitUS Tech Giant Apple Withdraws 'Out Of Office' Ad After Thai Backlash, Calls for Boycott
Aug 2, 2024, 08:48 AM
US tech giant Apple has withdrawn its 'Out Of Office' ad, filmed in Thailand, following backlash from Thai citizens, lawmakers, and influencers. The short film, 'The Underdogs: OOO (Out Of Office),' faced criticism for allegedly depicting Thailand negatively through stereotypes and failing to reflect the country’s true image. The controversy led to calls for a boycott of Apple products in Thailand. The ad was pulled just two weeks after its release, and Apple has since apologized for the growing controversy. This is another controversial advert removed by Apple.
