The cost of the US Air Force's new Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) program has significantly increased. Initially estimated at $78 billion, the program is now projected to cost $141 billion, an 81% rise over the forecast four years ago, according to an official. Some sources suggest the costs could soar to around $160 billion. The cost per missile has also escalated to $214 million.
