The British Ministry of Defence has announced the successful test of the SPEAR-3 cruise missile, marking a significant advancement in its 'Medium Range Precision Strike' capabilities. Launched from a Eurofighter Typhoon at the Vidsel test range in Sweden, the missile successfully struck a ground target located 100 kilometers away. The SPEAR-3, an air-launched cruise missile measuring 2 meters in length and 0.180 meters in diameter, is designed to engage a variety of targets, including air defenses, ships, tanks, and fast-moving vehicles. Each F-35 jet can carry up to eight of these missiles, enhancing the long-range strike capability of the Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers. The missile has an estimated operational range between 120 to 140 kilometers, showcasing its potential for precision strikes in various combat scenarios.
