Nov 17, 2024, 11:00 AM
The British Ministry of Defence has announced the successful test of the SPEAR-3 cruise missile, marking a significant advancement in its 'Medium Range Precision Strike' capabilities. Launched from a Eurofighter Typhoon at the Vidsel test range in Sweden, the missile successfully struck a ground target located 100 kilometers away. The SPEAR-3, an air-launched cruise missile measuring 2 meters in length and 0.180 meters in diameter, is designed to engage a variety of targets, including air defenses, ships, tanks, and fast-moving vehicles. The missile has an estimated operational range between 120 to 140 kilometers, showcasing its potential for precision strikes in various combat scenarios.
