The UK has launched a public inquiry into the death of Dawn Sturgess, a Wiltshire woman who died in 2018 after being exposed to the Novichok nerve agent. The poisoning, which also targeted former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal, significantly strained relations between London and the Kremlin. Former Prime Minister Theresa May has expressed doubts about achieving justice for the victims, stating it is 'highly unlikely'. She added, 'I would hope by the end of it the family and friends of Dawn Sturgess feel it has got to the truth.' The inquiry will examine the role of the Russian state in the poisoning and whether the Skripals were adequately protected. Public hearings are set to begin at Salisbury Guildhall, with heightened security measures in place. The inquiry has a limited scope.
