Nov 26, 2024, 02:56 AM
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is advancing its 2nm semiconductor production capabilities with significant developments at its Kaohsiung facility in southern Taiwan. The company held a ceremony on November 26 to mark the installation of production equipment at its Fab P1, signaling the transition from construction to operational readiness. The Kaohsiung fab is reported to be six months ahead of schedule and is set to officially open on December 1, 2024. This facility follows TSMC's 2nm fab in Hsinchu, which began equipment installation in April. TSMC has also committed to utilizing high-NA EUV machines in its advanced manufacturing processes. The event was attended by clients, partners, and government officials, underscoring the strategic importance of the new facility in TSMC's roadmap for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
