Trump, Speaking at Davos, Urges OPEC to Lower Oil Prices to End Ukraine War

President Donald Trump, speaking remotely at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, announced that he will ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to lower oil prices, expressing surprise that they had not done so before the U.S. elections. Trump suggested that reducing oil prices, currently around $80 per barrel, could immediately end the war between Russia and Ukraine by limiting Russia's ability to finance its military operations. Following his remarks, WTI oil prices fell.
