He accused Newsom of mismanaging the state's water resources, claiming environmental policies have led to a lack of water in fire hydrants. Trump argued that Newsom should have signed a declaration to pump more water through California to prevent the situation. He also criticized President Biden's administration for its handling of the disaster. In response, Governor Newsom accused Trump of politicizing the wildfires.
