VisitTesla to Launch Shanghai Megapack Factory by End of 2024, Doubling Capacity to 80 GWh with Eve Energy's 10,000 Units Annually

Tesla is set to begin operations at its new Megapack factory in Shanghai, with construction expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The facility, which will produce energy storage systems, is designed to double Tesla's global battery energy storage capacity to 80 GWh. Production is slated to commence in the first quarter of 2025, with an initial output of 10,000 units annually. In addition, Tesla has reportedly signed an agreement with Eve Energy, which will become its sixth battery supplier. Eve Energy's Malaysian factory is anticipated to start supplying energy storage batteries to Tesla in 2026. The partnership with Eve Energy is expected to support the operations of the Shanghai Megapack factory, enhancing Tesla's energy business significantly.
