Switzerland Ready to Host U.S. President-elect Trump and Russian President Putin for Ukraine Peace Talks

Switzerland has expressed its readiness to host a high-level meeting between U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, should both parties request it. Nicolas Bideau, head of communications at the Swiss Foreign Ministry, confirmed Switzerland's willingness to facilitate such a meeting, emphasizing the country's neutral stance. Since hosting the Bürgenstock Peace Summit, Switzerland has been communicating its readiness to support diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace. The Swiss government has stated that it would not initiate such a meeting but is prepared to host it if formally requested by both leaders. Trump has indicated preparations for a meeting with Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine, while the Kremlin has acknowledged the intention but noted that no formal requests have been made yet.
