Simone Biles has been named Sports Illustrated's 2024 Sportsperson of the Year, recognizing her outstanding achievements in gymnastics. The 27-year-old gymnast, who secured three gold medals and a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has become the most decorated gymnast in history with a total of 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals. Biles's performance in Paris included victories in the team all-around, individual all-around, and vault, along with a silver in the floor exercise. Her recognition by Sports Illustrated also acknowledges her advocacy for mental health issues in sports.
