VisitSecret Service Unveils DNC Security Plan in Chicago with 25 Days to Go

The U.S. Secret Service, in collaboration with the FBI, Chicago Police, and other local authorities, has unveiled a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago. With 25 days remaining until the event, officials including Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor have emphasized the importance of safety and security. The plan includes detailed public safety measures and maps of the security perimeter, which will close off wide swaths of the Near West Side around the United Center and downtown areas near McCormick Place. Governor Pritzker and the Mayor assured the public that Chicago is ready for the convention, urging residents and attendees to stay vigilant and heed public announcements regarding the event. Commissioner Nance-Holt highlighted the communication and collaboration efforts to ensure a safe and successful convention. The security briefing was held on July 25 at 1pm ET.
