With 25 days remaining until the event, officials including Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor have emphasized the importance of safety and security. The plan includes detailed public safety measures and maps of the security perimeter, which will close off wide swaths of the Near West Side around the United Center and downtown areas near McCormick Place.
