VisitOP Labs Proposes Upgrade After Optimism Fault Proof System Vulnerabilities Found
Aug 19, 2024, 11:31 PM
The Optimism Foundation has identified vulnerabilities in its decentralized fault proof system, leading to the temporary disabling of its fraud protection mechanism. As a result, the Layer 2 (L2) network has been returned to a permissioned state. In response to these findings, OP Labs has proposed an upgrade to address the issues. The decision follows community-driven audits that revealed bugs in the fault proof system, prompting the need for a solution to enhance the network's security and reliability.
