In Los Angeles, a man dressed as a firefighter was arrested for burglarizing a home in the Malibu area, amid ongoing wildfires that have resulted in 24 deaths and destroyed over 12,000 structures. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna reported that the man was apprehended in the Palisades Fire evacuation zone. The arrest is part of a broader crackdown on looting, with a total of 29 individuals arrested in connection with criminal activities around the wildfires. These arrests include 25 in the Eaton Fire area and four in the Palisades Fire region. The incidents have prompted authorities to implement a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the affected areas to prevent further looting and ensure the safety of evacuated properties, with over 100,000 people currently evacuated.
