Reports emerged on Tuesday claiming that an Israeli military incursion into Syria had advanced approximately 25 kilometers (16 miles) southwest of Damascus, according to multiple security sources. The incursion was said to follow Israel's seizure of a buffer zone in southern Syria and over 250 airstrikes on Syrian military targets, including army and air bases. However, an Israeli military spokesperson denied these claims, stating that Israeli forces have not moved beyond the buffer zone near the Golan Heights and are operating solely within defensive positions close to the border. The spokesperson dismissed the reports as 'completely incorrect.'
