Israel Launches 'Iron Wall' Operation in Jenin, Killing Eight Palestinians as Bulldozers Destroy Infrastructure
Jan 21, 2025, 11:59 AM
Israeli forces have launched a large-scale military operation in the West Bank city of Jenin, resulting in at least eight Palestinians killed and over 70 wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The operation, dubbed 'Iron Wall,' began with drone strikes and involves ground troops, drones, bulldozers, and air support, including helicopter gunships. Israeli bulldozers are destroying infrastructure in Jenin. Palestinian Authority forces withdrew from the area prior to the operation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the operation aims to enhance security in the West Bank and counter the Iranian axis wherever it extends its reach. Reports indicate that Israeli forces are obstructing medical teams from reaching the wounded and have blocked access to Jenin Governmental Hospital. Medical personnel, including a doctor and a nurse, have been injured. The operation is expected to last several days.
