Iraj Masjedi, a senior commander of Iran's Quds Force, has called for the prosecution of Donald Trump in connection with the assassination of Qassem Soleimani. Masjedi stated that Trump must 'pay for this blood' and be brought to justice for giving the order to kill Soleimani. He further accused Trump of serving terrorist interests and emphasized that the assassination warranted a response. This statement comes on the anniversary of Soleimani's death, which has been marked by Iranian officials reiterating their commitment to seek retribution, although they have denied recent claims of plans to assassinate Trump. The Iranian government previously promised 'harsh revenge' following Soleimani's killing by a U.S. drone strike in January 2020.
