A resident from Hampstead, New Hampshire, has died after contracting the mosquito-borne Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) virus, marking the state's first fatal case of the rare disease since 2014. Health officials confirmed that this is the first human case of EEE in New Hampshire in a decade. The virus, which causes brain swelling, is spread by mosquitoes and is considered rare but deadly.
