Grizzly bear 399, arguably the most famous bear in the world and an ambassador for her species, was struck and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday night, October 22, 2024, in Wyoming. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service confirmed that the iconic 28-year-old grizzly was fatally hit on Highway 26/89 in Snake River Canyon, south of Jackson.
