Texas, ranked No.5, defeated No.4 Arizona State 39-31 in double overtime in the Peach Bowl on New Year's Day, advancing to the College Football Playoff Semifinals. In what was described as an all-time classic, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers delivered a clutch performance, accounting for four touchdowns. Ewers connected early in the game with DeAndre Moore Jr. on a 23-yard touchdown pass after a 54-yard completion to Matthew Golden.
