Brazil's Lula Discharged after Two Emergency Brain Surgeries Following Fall-Induced Hemorrhage

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, 79, was discharged from Hospital Sírio-Libanês in São Paulo on Sunday after undergoing two emergency surgeries to treat an intracranial hemorrhage caused by a fall. Lula had been hospitalized for six days following the procedures to address the brain bleed. Doctors advised that he remain in São Paulo until at least Thursday, when he will undergo a control tomography scan. The medical team recommended he avoid intense physical activity and international flights for about a month. Appearing before journalists upon his discharge, Lula said he felt "scared and worried" but is now "here in one piece" and "back home and feeling well." He is expected to resume his presidential duties while adhering to his doctors' recommendations.
