VisitAnduril's Arsenal-1 to Create 4,000 Jobs in Ohio, Produce Autonomous Systems and Weapons
Jan 16, 2025, 04:46 PM
Anduril Industries, a defense technology startup valued at $14 billion, has announced plans to build a $1 billion manufacturing facility named Arsenal-1 in Columbus, Ohio. The facility, spanning 5 million square feet and with an additional 500 acres available for expansion, is set to produce tens of thousands of autonomous systems and weapons annually, including aerial and maritime drones, sensors, and other products. Specifically, it will focus on producing Fury and Roadrunner drones and Barracuda autonomous missiles. The factory is expected to create 4,000 jobs and will be located near Rickenbacker International Airport, with construction targeted to start as soon as approvals are secured and production to begin by July 2026. The project is seen as a major step in Anduril's ambition to scale up production of autonomous systems for the U.S. military and is part of a broader effort to 'Rebuild the Arsenal' of U.S. military capabilities.
