ACLU Sues Trump Administration in New Hampshire Federal Court Over Birthright Citizenship Order

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration in federal court in New Hampshire over an executive order aimed at ending birthright citizenship. The order, signed by President Donald Trump, seeks to block illegal immigrants and other temporary visitors from obtaining citizenship for their U.S.-born children. The ACLU argues that denying citizenship to U.S.-born children is unconstitutional and contrary to American values, as birthright citizenship is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The Trump administration contends that the 14th Amendment has always excluded from birthright citizenship those not 'subject to the jurisdiction' of the United States.
