Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 52,622 Syrian refugees have returned to their country from Turkey in the past month following the fall of the Assad regime. This number marks an increase from the average monthly return of 11,000 in the first 11 months of 2024. Since 2017, a total of 792,625 Syrians have returned to their homeland. Yerlikaya made these remarks at the Cilvegözü Border Gate in Hatay, emphasizing that the returns are voluntary, safe, and dignified. Currently, Turkey hosts approximately 2.89 million Syrian refugees.
