A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck near Concord in the Bay Area on Sunday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The quake occurred at 8:49 a.m. and was centered 0.7 miles east-southeast of Concord. No damage or injuries were reported following the event. Earlier in the week, on Friday morning, a separate 3.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded west of San Francisco, also with no reported damage or injuries.
