At least 10 people were killed and over 35 injured on New Year's Day when a driver plowed a pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans' French Quarter, city authorities said. The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. during New Year's celebrations. After crashing into the crowd, the driver reportedly exited the vehicle and opened fire, prompting police to return fire.
