CDC Declares McDonald's E. coli Outbreak Over After 104 Cases, 34 Hospitalizations, and 1 Death
Dec 3, 2024, 04:44 PM
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared the E. coli outbreak linked to onions served at McDonald's restaurants as over. The outbreak, which affected 104 individuals across 14 states, resulted in 34 hospitalizations and one death. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) completed its investigation into the outbreak, which was associated with recalled yellow onions from Taylor Farms. The recalled onions are now past their shelf-life, effectively ending the outbreak. McDonald's Quarter Pounders were identified as the source of the contaminated onions.
