Jannik Sinner Wins Halle Title as World No.1, Defeats Hurkacz 7-6, 7-6
Jun 23, 2024, 02:26 PM
Jannik Sinner has won the 2024 Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, defeating Hubert Hurkacz in the final with scores of 7-6, 7-6. This victory marks Sinner's first title as the world No.1, making him only the second man to win Halle while holding the top ranking, the first being Roger Federer. Sinner and Hurkacz, who are good friends off the court and played doubles together earlier in the week, celebrated their achievement by awarding medals to the ball kids. Sinner expressed his admiration for Hurkacz and his team during the post-match ceremony. Additionally, Sinner acknowledged his girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya, who competed in Berlin but lost after saving six match points.
