NOAA and Met Office Accused of Manipulating Temperature Data to Exaggerate Global Warming
May 25, 2024, 12:07 PM
Concerns are growing over allegations that both the US and UK government agencies have manipulated historical temperature data to exaggerate global warming trends. In the US, accusations are directed at NOAA and USHCN, with claims that data tampering has created an artificial warming trend in Missouri, recorded by 248 thermometers, and erased the heat of 1911. In Ohio, it is noted that 89% of days over 100F, recorded on 1,511 occasions, occurred before 1970, suggesting past summers were hotter when atmospheric CO2 levels were lower. Similarly, the UK's Met Office is accused of altering historic temperature records, a practice allegedly planned in the leaked 'Climategate' emails. These actions have led to widespread skepticism about the authenticity of climate change data.
