The executions were carried out by Jabhat al-Nusra, with Al-Waisi, who was a Sharia judge with the group at the time, overseeing the events. One woman was accused of adultery and the other of prostitution, charged with 'corruption and prostitution.' A senior official from the new Syrian administration has confirmed Al-Waisi's identity in the videos, stating that the actions were carried out according to the laws in effect at that time in Idlib. However, the official emphasized that such actions reflect a past phase that has been surpassed under the current legal and procedural transformations, and all legal actions from that period will be reviewed to ensure justice and fairness.
