Shadi Al-Waisi, the current interim Minister of Justice in Syria, was involved in the public executions of two women in Idlib in 2015, as evidenced by videos that have recently surfaced. The executions were carried out by Jabhat al-Nusra, with Al-Waisi, who was a Sharia judge with the group at the time, overseeing the events. One woman was accused of adultery and the other of prostitution, charged with 'corruption and prostitution.' A senior official from the new Syrian administration has confirmed Al-Waisi's identity in the videos, stating that the actions were carried out according to the laws in effect at that time in Idlib. However, the official emphasized that such actions reflect a past phase that has been surpassed under the current legal and procedural transformations, and all legal actions from that period will be reviewed to ensure justice and fairness.
