A 15-year-old high school freshman from Grand Junction, Colorado, named Kamberlyn Bowler, has been hospitalized with severe complications of E. coli food poisoning after consuming McDonald's Quarter Pounder hamburgers. Bowler, who ate the Quarter Pounders with cheese and extra pickles several times in the weeks before the McDonald's E. coli outbreak, has developed kidney failure and had to be flown 250 miles to a hospital near Denver for treatment, including 10 days of dialysis. The E. coli outbreak has led to a lawsuit involving multiple clients, including Bowler.
