Martin Shkreli Sued by PleasrDAO for Allegedly Copying $4.75 Million Wu-Tang Clan Album
Jun 11, 2024, 03:57 PM
Martin Shkreli, the convicted pharmaceutical executive, is facing a lawsuit from PleasrDAO, a digital art collective. The lawsuit, filed in New York, alleges that Shkreli copied and released a one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album, 'Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,' which PleasrDAO purchased for $4.75 million. The collective claims that Shkreli's actions violate the forfeiture order and amount to misappropriation of trade secrets. The album was played during a private event hosted by PleasrDAO on June 9, where attendees had a unique listening experience inside a cathedral. Thousands also tuned in via a live stream that Shkreli referred to as a 'Wu-Tang official listening party.'
