Martin Shkreli Sued by PleasrDAO for Allegedly Copying $4.75M Wu-Tang Clan Album
Jun 11, 2024, 03:57 PM
Martin Shkreli, the convicted former pharmaceutical executive, is facing a lawsuit from PleasrDAO, a digital art collective, over allegations that he illegally copied and distributed the unique Wu-Tang Clan album 'Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.' PleasrDAO, which purchased the album for $4.75 million, claims that Shkreli violated a forfeiture order by making copies and sharing the music publicly. Thousands of people reportedly tuned in on Sunday to a live stream where Shkreli played the album, an event he called a 'Wu-Tang official listening party.' PleasrDAO argues that this activity constitutes misappropriation of trade secrets and greatly diminishes the album's value. The lawsuit was filed in New York.
