UN Urges Civilian Protection After Biden Approves ATACMS Strikes on Russia
Nov 19, 2024, 09:20 PM
The United Nations, through its official representative Stephane Dujarric, has called for the protection of Russian civilians following reports that President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles to strike targets deep inside Russia. This marks the first time Ukraine has used these long-range American missiles against Russian territory, a move that was approved by Biden just days ago. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin has formally lowered the threshold for Russia's use of its nuclear weapons, adjusting its nuclear doctrine to allow for their use in response to the perceived escalation.
