Five Family Members, Including 3 Children, Found Dead in West Valley City Home; Teen Hospitalized
Dec 18, 2024, 07:15 AM
Five members of a family, including three children, were found dead in their West Valley City, Utah home on Tuesday, located on the 3700 block of Oxford Way. The victims included a 42-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, an 11-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl, and a 2-year-old girl. A 17-year-old boy was discovered alive in the garage with a gunshot wound and was hospitalized. The West Valley City Police Department is investigating the incident as a homicide, with all victims believed to have died from gunshot wounds. The police do not believe there is a suspect at large, indicating the incident was isolated to the home. Authorities were initially called to the residence on Monday for a welfare check but found no immediate cause for entry. The family member who requested the welfare check returned on Tuesday, entered the garage, and discovered the injured teenager, prompting a police response that led to the discovery of the deceased family members.
