Gaza Health Ministry Rejects 88 Bodies Returned by Israel to Khan Younis
Sep 25, 2024, 12:12 PM
The Ministry of Health in Gaza has refused to accept nearly 100 bodies, including 88 returned by Israeli forces, citing a lack of identifying information. The bodies, believed to be Palestinians, were handed over without documentation such as names or ages. The Gaza Health Ministry has called the process degrading to human dignity and has urged the International Committee of the Red Cross to fulfill its responsibilities in handling the bodies. The returned bodies are said to be decomposed and were transported in trucks, with some reports indicating they were excavated from graves for DNA testing. The bodies were sent to Khan Younis following a military offensive.
