Republicans Challenge Pennsylvania Senate Election Results Amid Recount and Court Battles
Nov 15, 2024, 03:19 PM
Republicans have taken legal action in Pennsylvania amid the vote counting process for the U.S. Senate election between Democratic Sen. Bob Casey and Republican David McCormick. The campaigns are preparing for a recount and are pressing counties for favorable ballot-counting decisions. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that undated absentee ballots cannot be counted, which has led to accusations from Republicans that Democrats are attempting to steal the election by counting illegal votes. Bucks County Commissioner Diane Marseglia has expressed concerns about the disregard for court precedents in the current election process. The Pennsylvania Senate race is now playing out in county board rooms and the courtroom. There will be 53 Republican senators in the chamber in January.
