VisitBiden Orders Chinese Crypto Firm to Divest Property Near Wyoming Missile Base
May 13, 2024, 09:08 PM
President Joe Biden has issued an order preventing MineOne Ltd., a Chinese-backed cryptocurrency mining firm, from owning land near a Wyoming nuclear missile base. The decision, coordinated with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CIFUS), cites national security concerns due to the proximity of the firm's operations to critical military infrastructure. The firm, which is less than a mile from the base, has been ordered to divest its property and remove any equipment. This action was taken after it was discovered that MineOne never received proper clearance to operate so close to a U.S. military facility.
