Homeless Man Arrested After Unprovoked Manhattan Stabbing Spree Kills Two Men, Critically Injures Woman
Nov 18, 2024, 06:30 PM
A 51-year-old homeless man, Ramon Rivera, went on an unprovoked stabbing spree across Manhattan on Monday morning, killing two men and critically injuring a woman. The attacks occurred in multiple locations including Chelsea, where a 30-year-old man was fatally stabbed; Kipps Bay, where a 67-year-old man was killed; and near the United Nations in Midtown East, where a woman in her 60s was critically injured. Rivera was apprehended by police after the third stabbing, with assistance from a cab driver who followed him. He has eight prior arrests, including seven felonies in New York, and a criminal history in Florida, and was residing at the Bellevue Men's Shelter. Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD officials held a press conference to release details about the incidents.
