Two Pune Doctors Arrested for Manipulating Blood Samples in Porsche Crash Involving 17-Year-Old
May 27, 2024, 04:37 AM
Two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital in Pune have been arrested for allegedly manipulating blood samples in a car accident case involving a 17-year-old driver. The doctors, identified as Dr. Ajay Tawre and Dr. Shrihari Halnor, reportedly replaced the original blood sample taken on May 19 with that of another person to show zero alcohol content. Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that the original sample was discarded in the hospital's dustbin. The incident relates to a fatal Porsche crash involving IT professionals in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area. The manipulation of blood samples has raised concerns over evidence destruction and the integrity of medical reports in legal cases. Additionally, the head of the Forensic Lab has also been arrested in connection with the case.
