JD-S Leader Suraj Revanna Arrested in Hassan for Assaulting Male Worker, Brother of Prajwal Revanna
Jun 22, 2024, 04:37 PM
Suraj Revanna, a member of the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) and son of HD Revanna, has been arrested by the Hassan police on charges of sexually assaulting a male party worker. The allegations include sexual harassment at his farmhouse in Gannikada village, Hassan, on June 16. The complainant, identified as Chethan, accused Suraj Revanna of the assault, leading to an FIR being registered under sections 377, 342, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. In a counter-complaint, Suraj Revanna alleged that Chethan and his brother-in-law, Shivakumar, were attempting to extort 5cr from him by threatening to file false sexual assault charges. The case has sparked significant controversy, with Suraj Revanna claiming it to be a political conspiracy. Suraj Revanna is the elder brother of Prajwal Revanna.
