Hezbollah Warns of 'Dangerous' QR Code Barcodes on Israeli Leaflets in Bekaa Valley
Sep 24, 2024, 11:21 AM
Hezbollah has issued a warning to residents of Lebanon's Bekaa Valley regarding leaflets dropped by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). According to Hezbollah, these leaflets contain 'very dangerous' barcodes that, if scanned, can withdraw all information from mobile phones. The organization advises residents not to scan or circulate the barcodes and to discard the leaflets immediately. The Israeli air force has reportedly dropped thousands of these fliers over southern Lebanon, and there are concerns that they may be distributed to other areas as well. Reuters reported that the barcodes could also be QR codes.
