French Court Orders Release of Lebanese Militant Georges Ibrahim Abdallah on December 6
Nov 15, 2024, 12:47 PM
A French court has ordered the release of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, a Lebanese pro-Palestinian militant who has been imprisoned since 1984. Abdallah, 72, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1987 for the assassinations of U.S. military attaché Charles Ray and Israeli diplomat Yaacov Bar-Siman-Tov in 1982. His release is scheduled for December 6, on the condition that he leaves France. Abdallah is one of France's longest-serving prisoners, according to prosecutors.
