Israel Rescues Yazidi Woman Kidnapped at 11 by ISIS, Held in Gaza for a Decade
Oct 3, 2024, 11:49 AM
A 21-year-old Yazidi woman, Fawzia Amin Sido, who was kidnapped by Islamic State militants in Iraq in 2014 at the age of 11, has been rescued from Gaza and reunited with her family. Fawzia was sold to a Palestinian ISIS member affiliated with Hamas and forced to marry him, giving birth to two of his children. She was held captive as a sex slave in Gaza for over a decade and abused by his family. The terrorist was eliminated in an airstrike. Israeli forces, including the IDF and COGAT, in coordination with the U.S., Jordan, and Iraq, conducted a rescue operation that led to her release. She has now returned to Sinjar, Iraq, where she was reunited with her family.
