Boeing and Union Reach Tentative Deal with 35% Wage Increase to End 33,000-Worker Strike
Oct 19, 2024, 03:49 PM
Boeing Co. and the union representing its 33,000 machinists have reached a tentative agreement to end a strike that has halted production of some of the company's top-selling jets since September 13. The deal includes a 35% wage increase over four years, up from the 25% previously offered, and a $7,000 ratification bonus. The union, IAM District 751, will present the proposal to its members for a vote on Wednesday, October 23. If approved, the agreement, brokered with the involvement of the acting U.S. Secretary of Labor, would conclude the five-week strike and allow production to resume.
