O'Riley's Debut Goal Seals Brighton's 2-1 Comeback Over Man City, Guardiola's Fourth Straight Loss
Nov 9, 2024, 07:16 PM
Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Manchester City 2-1 in a Premier League match, handing City their fourth consecutive loss. Erling Haaland opened the scoring for Manchester City, but Brighton equalized through Joao Pedro in the second half. Matt O'Riley, who joined Brighton for £25 million last summer, scored the winning goal on his Premier League debut to complete the comeback. Under manager Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton moved up to fourth place in the league. This marks the first time in Pep Guardiola's managerial career that he has lost four games in a row. Manchester City were without key players Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne.
