Philadelphia DA Sues Elon Musk's America PAC Over Alleged Illegal $1 Million Voter Lottery
Oct 28, 2024, 02:47 PM
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has filed a lawsuit to halt Elon Musk's super PAC, America PAC, from awarding $1 million daily to registered voters in swing states, including Pennsylvania. The lawsuit alleges that the lottery-style giveaway constitutes an illegal lottery scheme and violates Pennsylvania's consumer protection laws. The Department of Justice had previously sent a letter warning that the contest might be unlawful and violate federal election laws. Musk's America PAC has been offering $1 million daily prizes to voters who sign a petition supporting the U.S. Constitution ahead of the upcoming presidential election on November 5. Krasner stated that "America PAC and Musk must be stopped immediately, before the upcoming Presidential Election on Nov. 5." The DA's office is seeking an immediate injunction to stop the giveaway, citing concerns over election integrity.
